The exact orgin of where smallpox originates is very unclear. Lots of research so that it first came from Africa and then spread to India and China.

It was about 10,000 years ago. The first noted case of smallpox came from Egypt and from an Egyptian Pharaoh named Ramses V in 1350 B.C. Researches found scars on the mummified Ramses V that they believe are smallpox.

The first clear description of smallpox was recorded by a Chinese medic by the name of Ko Hung.
