as is taught and believed it is understood God created everything with a word.because he is spirit as is proclaimed in the bible he is invisible . he spoke, taught through the prophets, why? because he is invisible .all this was recorderd in what we called the books of the Old Testament...what also came out from those recordings is that many years later ,God the father creator of everything would represent himself on earth through his son Christ Jesus.the teachings of Jesus would later be called the books of the New Testament. new meaning all the old physical practises should be changed to a spititual way of worship.eg sacrifice blood of offering(goat)-old test.vs sacrificing your time to help, care for others etc.

Why does god exist to protestants?

I'm do not see that there are major differences on proofs for the existence of God between Roman Catholics and Protestants. Most proofs originated by Catholics are fine with Protestants, and vice versa. If the subject is really whether or not God exists, that is debated rather vigorously in good sized books right now. For a short but sound and readable proof for God, try the first 5 chapters of Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis

Was Scotland a protestant or a catholic country?

Why do Catholics and Jews deny the existence of Mary Magdalene?

Catholics do not deny the existence of Mary Magdalene and neither do the Jews. The Jews do not accept that Jesus was the Messiah and, therefore, do not accept the New testament as a part of Scripture. They do not deny that Jesus or Mary Magdalene existed.

2 simianities between chatholics and protitsants?

One similarity between Catholics and Protestants is their belief in the existence of God and the importance of spirituality. Both denominations emphasize the worship and devotion to God, although they may differ in specific practices and beliefs. Another similarity is the acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as the central figure in their faith. Both Catholics and Protestants believe in the divinity of Jesus and follow his teachings as recorded in the Bible, although interpretations and emphasis may vary.

What do protestant believe in?

The principal Protestant Churches have many similar beliefs to the Roman Catholic Church. Protestantism really began as a movement to reform Christianity, not to break away and create new beliefs. For example, Martin Luther, a Catholic priest and professor of theology, at first only wished to reform the practice of selling indulgences, a practice that he believed was corrupting the Church. After his excommunication, he formed the church which became known as the Lutheran Church, beginning the Protestant Movement. Protestants believe in the Holy Trinity, and in life hereafter. Protestants do not believe in praying to saints, the use of indulgences or the existence of purgatory. They believe that absolution of sins can be obtained by prayer alone. Catholics believe that grave (mortal) sins need to be confessed to a priest, and like Protestants, they believe that minor, venial sins may be confessed directly through prayer. Protestants believe in salvation by faith alone (Sola fide) rather than by faith plus its resulting good works of charity. They believe that the sacrifice of Christ was sufficient for salvation. Protestants follow essentially the same Bible as Catholics minus the Deuterocanonicals/Apocrypha. Jesus and the Apostles used the Old Testament with the seven books in question included. Years after the crucifiction, Jewish leaders, wanting to distance themselves from the emerging Christians, removed seven books. They kept the books written in Hebrew, and discarded the ones written in Greek. Today's Protestants use the shorter Jewish version of the OT. Catholics use the longer OT that was in use at the time of Christ. The ideas of praying for the dead, and of a place of purging before ultimate entry into heaven are contained within these books. The longer version was used by all Christians until the time of the Reformation. Protestants believe that Scripture alone is all that is necessary for spiritual guidance (Sola scriptura). Catholics believe that the use of Scripture plus Tradition ( ideas and practices passed down from the time of the Apostles and the founding fathers) is needed. Protestants and Catholics observe the same major feasts. Catholics observe seven sacraments and Protestants only observe the sacraments of baptism and communion. Protestants believe that communion is to be viewed as "symbol" only. Catholics believe that the bread and wine, during the Consecration at the Mass become the body and blood of Christ, as in the Last Supper. Protestants and Catholics have more in common than not. There are thousands of different Protestant denominations, each with slightly different beliefs and practices. All Catholics, whether of the Latin (western), Eastern, or other "Rite", share a common set of beliefs. Arguably Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists and some other Christian groups are also Protestant, however there a greater differences to which the above does not apply.

In King Henry Viii s time what was the difference between protestants and catholics?

Roman Catholic AnswerIn the final analysis, protestants feel that they should say "yes" to God and that they should decide how to do that. Catholics believe that they only decision God has given us is to say "yes" to Him, that after that, if we do say "yes" then we are humble and obedient to what He has revealed, so we follow the Church. The very basis of protestantism is that they are setting themselves up as pope and Church, they decided which books of the Bible they wanted and what dogmas of the Church they wanted to follow.

What is the conflict between Protestants and Catholics post reformation?

A:After the Reformation and the subsequent Catholic counter-Reformation, Catholics and Protestants gradually began to accept the existence of the others, even while believing that only their own positions were right. A continuing potential for conflict, or at least ill-will and suspicion, is that the Catholic Church insisted that as the true Church it must never be persecuted by non-Catholic secular authorities, but that Catholic rulers had the right and even the duty to persecute non-Catholics.Only with the Second Vatican Council in 1965 did the Catholic Church acknowledge that non-Catholics had the right to freedom from persecution. This was met with some resistance from some Catholics, but the Church is now moving towards friendly relationships with Protestants and even atheists. Pope Francis recently asked all Christians to pray for peace and for the non-religious to desire peace - a remarkable concession to those outside the Catholic faith.
