Texas struggled for its right to keep slaves, and it was more like a revolt, as the conflict occurred between American settlers and the Mexican government.

The Mexican-American War was the direct result of the Texas conflict, as many politicians in the US favored the Annexation of Texas, as well as the rest of the Southwest (i.e: California, Arizona, New Mexico).

Both conflicts resulted in the American Civil War.
