Alexander Hamilton was the Father of the Federalist Papers. He conceived of the idea a month after the Constitutional Convention had approved the US Constitution on September 17, 1787. He finished the first while traveling down the Hudson River from Albany to NYC. He invited William Duer and Gouverneur Morris but Duer wasn't up to the task and Morris was too busy. Then Hamilton got John Jay and James Madison to join his as coauthors.
