From the U.K.'s and U.S.'s perspective, women helped the allies win WWII from the home-front. While men were abroad at the at the front lines in Asia, Africa and Europe, many of the jobs that were left absent by men were filled-in by women as well as many of the jobs newly created by the war (such as arms manufacturing, ammunition, etc.) thus supporting the troops abroad and thus helping the allies win WWII.
