Like in other cultures and countries, Americans display respect in a variety of everyday ways. Even if Americans don't consciously think about the US Constitution, Americans grow up in an atmosphere of democracy and individual rights. Though many people forget those rights (examples: school bullying, hate crimes, murders and other crimes against people), most Americans are good, hard-working, and love America. They remember their roots, since America was historically the "melting pot" for immigrants from England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Russia, Poland, Mexico, Cuba and of course, Africa, and countries too numerous to mention. As such we have had many centuries of co-existing with other cultures within our borders. Like people in other countries, most Americans are deeply patriotic, and show respect to the American Flag and the National Anthem, even when or even if we might temporarily disagree with our government leaders. Americans are quick to pull together during times of natural disaster or outside threat. And everyday, you'll witness acts of respect and kindness throughout American cities, from greeting each other, holding doors for each other, running errands for others, donating time, energy, or money to others in distress or less fortunate, and in a general attitude of "taking care of one's neighbor". Yes, America has its problems, but every country does.
