To unlock Microsoft bitlocker you need to enter your password at boot time. If you have lost your password then you need to reformat and start over.
Boot from the Windows XP CD and let it reformat the drive. WIndows XP cannot use the native Ubuntu filesystem, so you'll need to reformat the drive anyway and you might as well do it using the XP install disc.
Use a Boot up CD or Boot up Floppy to format the C: Drive and then install ur Operating System. to create a boot floppy go to control panel -- > add and remove prog -- > the last tab (creat boot disk)
I'm thinking your question is How do you reformat a hard drive? If so you can do this lots of ways it mostly depends on what windows program you are running......but all of them if you boot from the CD you should be given that choice in setup or you can format from the c:/ in dos "c:/format then follow the on screen prompts.
you have to boot from something else, whether it be a floopy disk, thumb drive, or setup cd. you can't delete files that you are currently using. if you boot into windows xp you can't delete windows xp.
See if you can boot the Nexus One into the bootloader mode. To do so, from power off, press down the trackball and hold the power button until the bootloader comes on. Once there, press the power button once, use the volume button to rotate to "Recovery". Press the power button to select, and it will take you to the recovery page. Once in there, you can do things such as clear the cache, factory reset the phone and the like.
Upgrading to Windows XP is easy if you have the computer that can do it. The actual minimum install is at least 2x the minimum Microsoft recommends. You may be able to install it but it will run very slow. I can't see exactly what is happening to your computer but I hope you have backed it up. If your important files are backed up, you can set your CMOS to boot from a floppy first and boot from your windows 98 startup disk. You can then use fdisk and format to reformat your hard drive. Then you can try to reinstall XP on a clean hard drive (this is best, the program will ask you to insert your 98 disk.). If your installation still doesn't work you're stuck with win 98. Just reformat again and install Win 98. Of course you'll have to reinstall your programs and data.
It sounds like the drive itself is fried. You may need to install a brand new drive and toss out the old one.
mine got stuck but could still be open from inside, all i needed was WD40 on lock outside and it started opening again. Sorry if it isn't this kind of stuck
Boot any bootable OS(with a partition manager) from a USB stick or DVD and reformat your HDD to NTFS, then try a clean install. Alternatively you could insert the HDD into another computer to reformat it, if you're not known with bootable operating systems. If this does not work you might need to replace the HDD.
