MEET WITH THE TEACHER and ask for specific times that she thought your daughter was lying (do NOT discuss with teacher while daughter is present). REALIZE A FEW THINGS: Kids do tell lies. Teachers enjoy their profession, and really don't have a reason to bring suspected lying to you unless the teacher thinks it's vital. ALSO: Please don't be one of those parents who insist their child does no wrong.DO NOT immediately jump to your daughters defense. DO support the teacher until you can determine whether your daughter IS lying. Investigate: is said teacher highly regarded and well liked?? >>>>>Years ago, when you got in trouble at school you were in trouble at home as well. These days however, just the opposite is true. Parents believe every word and explanation under the sun. They hire a lawyer and sue the school board, bad-mouth the teacher, and coddle their poor picked on child. The only time a parent should go against a teacher is when there are other documented issues with that teacher, and the teacher is innapropriate and even a bully. Until ALL the facts are known, present a united front with the teacher and expect more out of your child. No wonder there is a shortage of teachers. Who in their right mind wants the wrath of a parent and a stessful environment????

You couldn't PAY ME ENOUGH to be a teacher these days..............Don't play the blame game. Speak to the teacher and the child SEPERATELY. Ask to be advised IMMEDIATELY of further issues. Kids are very good at playing one adult against the other!!!!!!! <<<ADR>>>
