You can either A: Ask them to leave the car in their name and hope their insurance doesn't find out. This would be fine for you but for them it is very risky bc if you stop paying they get screwed not you. You could also write up a contract and have it notarized, that way it will hold up in court. or B: Go to a bank ang get a check from them approved for the payoff of the car.
