Bypassing the VATS system on a '89 Pontiac Trams Am requires grounding the crank/start wire on the VATS box (located behind the dash, behind the console) and purchasing a bypass module, which is used in order to allow the fuel injectors to operate. Baker Electronix offers a DFVATS module for this purpose.
You can not bypass or disable the factory alarm. It is part of the computer programming.
