Ulcers are a tear in the lining of the tissues. Usually occurring in the stomach and small intestine, though they can occur in other tissues of the body. The most common cause of stomach ulcers is a bacteria called Helicobacter Pylori. It can be cured with anti-biotics and can be transmitted by eating foods that are contaminated with this bacteria. The bacteria weakens the lining of the stomach which is then further irritated by acids which occur naturally in the stomach causing the ulcer and the pain and burning associated with the ulcer.

I have gastroenteritis. From what I learned from my doctor, the condition started when there was over secretion of the gastric fluids in my stomach which made my stomach lining thinner. That's the reason why I experience stomach spasms when I drink too much liquor, eat too oily food, and stress also aggravates attacks.

The main cause of this damage is infection with bacteria called Helicobacter pylori, or H. pylori. The bacteria can cause the lining of your duodenum to become inflamed and an ulcer can form. Some medications can also cause a duodenal ulcer, particularly anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and aspirin.
