Jack up the van or put on wheel stands. locate the 2 clamps that hold the bushings in place and loosen them. I used an air wrench, extenstion, universal and deep socket. If you don't have and air wrench, you can use a ratchet. While you are removing the old bushings, set your oven to 350 degrees or so and put the 2 new bushings on the middle rack for about 5 minutes (keep an eye on them) This will soften up the rubber enough that you can easily slip them on over the sway bar / stabilizer bar. Put the clamps back in place and tighten up. No more clunking or rattleing noises when driving! Parts are about $10-15 each, you will need 2. Caravan's are known to go through these bushings and with my van ('03) I have found that about every 50000km or so they need to be replaced. I had the dealer do it once for $125, next time I spent the $30 for parts and had it fixed in under and hour.

It isn't the struts, the name of the part is "Bushing Sway Eli" according to our receipt of repair. It is a factory defect that is covered on your warrantee if you have one.

Most new sway bar bushings are split so they can be R & R easily. Remove clamp from bushing, slip or cut old bushing out, slip new bushing in and replace bushing clamp.
What does a sway bar bushing do?
The sway bar bushing is located inside the the clamp that secures the sway bar to the frame. They use a busing to allow a little flex in the sway bar but not enough to cause a clank sound everytime the bar is flexed. So if the bushing is worn or gone your sway bar will make a bunch of clunk/clank sounds when the car is in motion.
