On a 2000 Ford Ranger , 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine : The PCV valve is on the drivers side engine valve cover , on the top of the valve cover , near the REAR of the cover
On a 1996 Ford Ranger , 4.0 : The PCV valve is on top of the drivers side engine valve cover , near the rear of the valve cover
on the backside of the engine by the firewall
The PCV valve, on your Ford Ranger 2.5 liter engine, is located on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The valve is on the back of the housing.

Go to autozone.com & put your vehicle info in, click on the repair info tab, then click on specifications, & ingnition (tune up). Worked for me & my 2002 ranger!
