The transmissions of The Odyssey in all years are not as reliable as old Honda's and the 1999 through 2001 have had the warranty extended to 7 yrs 100,000 miles. Good luck. You may need luck since the Odyssey transmission is not up to old Honda reliability standards. Change th fluid every 36,000 miles and do not tow anything with this vehicle. 1. Bring transmission up to operating temperature by driving the vehicle. 2. Park the vehicle on level ground, and turn the engine off 3. Remove ATF filler bolt and the drain plug, and drain the automatic Transmission Fluid. 4. re-install the drain plug with a new sealing washer. 5. Refill the transmission with the recommended fluid into the filler hole to the upper mark on the dipstick. Caution: Use only Honda ATF Fluid. 6. Install the ATF filler bolt with a new sealing washer. Torque for drain plug: 36lb-ft Torque for filler bolt: 33 lb-ft. There is no user replaceable transmission filter. The filter is located within the transmission and is only replaced when the transmission is overhauled.
