My 1340 evo with 42 HRS Mikuni idles fast after it gets hot no matter how i adjust the idle air screw. What am i doing wrong??
There is a small screw adjustment on the drivers side, closer to the bottom back part of the mikuni carb. Remove the air filter and housing to get at it better
Start at 1 1/2 turns from seat and adjust for best idle
Follow this link, should tell you everything you want to know: http://www.factorypro.com/tech_tuning_procedures/tuning_float_height_adj_procedure.html
there is a set screw on the linkage on the carb that will adjust it.
If you are not able to adjust it down with the idle adjust knob you may have an airleak at the carb.
twist the screw under the carb
there is a screw on the carb. be sure to adjust while the engine is running so you can tell by the idle when it is set properly.
It should be on the carb!
If it is throtle body equipped, the idle control s solonoid controls it. If it has a carb there is an adjustment screw on the bottom of the carb.
there is a little screw on the back of the carb. if you loosen it, it will idle slower, tighten it, it will idle faster.
there is a screw on the carb right where the throttle cable hooks to it that you use to adjust the idle.
