Facing the engine the tensioner will be on left side of engine. There is an idler pulley that looks like the tensioner. The idler will have a smooth surface but the tensioner will have grooves on the pulley & should below the idler. If the tensioner is making noise etc it is prob just the tensioner pulley (grooved one) & you can get just the pulley. Big savings.
NO it is not.
the idler pully is the top center that that spins freely and is connected to the block.
NO
How do you adjust the doors on a dodge ram truck 1500
The idler tensioner pulley on your 1999 Ford F3 50 pickup truck is held in place with a single retaining bolt. The retaining bolt will go through the middle of the pulley. Tighten the retaining bolt to install the tensioner pulley.
Standing in front of truck look to your below power steering pump you see a pulley that is your tenisorner pulley 15mm loosing the bolt on pulley above to the left is another 15mm also turn counter clock wise to loosen it this will help remove the belt
The tension pulley should have a bolt that holds it on, allowing you to replace the unit.
I have a 1985 dodge pickup with a 225 slant six and a 3 speed overdrive transmission how do i adjust the clutch.
Clockwise when viewed from pulley end.
Run the top half of the belt through the fan blades, rotate the fan 180 degrees, then pull that half back through the fan blades. Go around the crankcase pulley and the camshaft pulley, go under the tensioner pulley, over the AC compressor pulley, under the idler pulley, and back over the crankcase pulley. You'll need a 1/2" drive ratchet or breaker bar to adjust the tensioner.
It requires a power steering pulley PULLER, You can rent them at a parts store.
