How do you adjust headlights on a Mercedes ml320?

Directly under the headlight there is a strip the same color of the vehicle. The strip is the same length of the bottom of the headlight and wraps around the corner light too. OK..."That strip comes out and once it's out......the adjustments are underneath the headlight and on the side also............Sincerely, Dat Dude Also on late model ml320's with projectors. Once you open the hood look directly at the top of the headlamp assembly. And just a couple inches toward the engine compartment on the headlamp assembly itself. Where is black plastic area. You will see to hex shaped screw holes colored white. There are two of these about 4 inches from each other. One is used to adjust vertical movement of the beam, and the other for horizontal movement of the projector. Note one of the screws is barely visible so look close. It;s kind of hidden close in between the top steel cross member and the light assembly itself. These usually require a special tool to turn. But one can be fabricated at home easily.

How to lower the headlight beam on a 1997 rav 4?

Based on adjusting my 1998 UK model Rav4 On the rear of the headlight are two 'bolt heads which are 10mm in size. One is lower down and near the wing. This adjusts the lights for left / right movement. Central, and higher up on the light is a second one. IF you have dippable headlights controlled by using a rolling switch on the dashboard the controller is also here, and the manual adjustment bolt comes our from the back of it, otherwise it is just an adjustment bolt. Turning the bolt clockwise raised the light, anticlockwise lowers it. BE CAREFULL not to adjust too much, as if you have the auto adjuster, it can force the bolt & auto adjuster apart (done it myself !)

How do you align the headlamps on a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am?

there are several methods of adjusting the headlights. these models are equipped with composite headlights, with 2 adjustment screws, one controlling left-and-right movement and 1 for up and down movement. the simplest method requires a blank wall 25 feet in front of vehicle and a level floor. position masking tape vertically on the wall in reference to the center line and the center line of both headlights.position a horizontal tape line in reference to the center line of all headlights. adjustment should be made with vehicle level, the gas tank 1/2 full and no unnecessary load in vehicle. starting with the low beam adjustment, position the high intensity zone so it is 2 inches below the horizontal line and 2 inches to the side of the vertical headlight , away from on coming traffic. with the high beams on, the high intensity zone should be vertically centered with the exact center line just below the horizontal line. keep in mind the low beams are the most used, so try and get these right if possible.

What tells the motor that the headlight covers are open or closed on a 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado so it will stop?

There is a control module that is exclusively there to manage the headlight doors. It sends a voltage pulse to the motor and then stops sending voltage and monitors the movement of it (seeing if the motor continues to turn after voltage is removed). If the motor is still turning the module knows the headlight doors have not reached the full up or full down position and will again provide voltage to the motor. One the headlight doors reach the end of their travel the motor will no longer turn when the voltage is removed. The module sees this and will quit actuating the motor.
