there are two possible ways to do this. the first and easiest is to adjust the distributor by loosening the two screws that bolts onto the the engine and, while the engine is running, turn the distributor (clock/anti clockwise) until a desirable idle speed is obtained. second is a little tricky and difficult to reach w/o removing hoses around the air filter housing and valve cover. once these have been removed look under the accelerator cable there will be a small nut and a screw which can be loosened to also adjust the idle speed. hope this helps.
