83xbrThe answer is that you can't adjust the idle speed on any car since the 80s, because the Feds mandated a design that allows only automotive shops to do that. If you need to increase your idle speed, you can cheat by finding the throttle cable linkage at the carb or throttle body. There should be a flat piece of metal to which the throttle cable is attached. The metal is hinged and spring loaded usually. When you step on the gas, the piece of metal hinges away from the carb/throttle body. The piece of metail serves as a stop when it hinges back to the carb/throttle body. Wrap a zip-tie or some other relatively thin material around the flat piece of metal and you will artificially keep it from returning to the lowest idle point. Use materials of differing thicknesses until you achieve the idle speed you want.
They say you're not supposed to, and put thread locker on the Allen screw from the factory. BUT... If you raise the hood while engine is at an idle and find the lever that moves when you open the throttle, it has a tiny Allen screw up in it that you need a small Allen wrench to turn it towards the throttle stop. If you can't get that to work you can put something on the throttle stop it's self (that the throttle rests on) Like tapeing something to it like sheet metal shims or something of the sort.
You cant. The idle is controlled by the ecu.
The idle speed is computer controlled
Hey JustinThe idle speed is controled by the ecm and is not adjustable. Goodluck, Joe You can adjust the idle air screw. Get a haynes manual it will show you how
Ford stopped manufacturing the Falcon in 1970.
how to adjust idle on 2001 legacy
At the base of the carburetor are 2 screws. One adjusts the idle speed and the other adjusts the idle mixture. Screw the idle mixture in until the engine starts missing then screw it out 1 turn. Then, adjust the idle speed screw to about 850 RPM.
it's non-adjustable
you can adjust it via the idle control valve.
check the EGR valve they are known to be faulty
How do you adjust the idle speed on a citroen berlingo 1.9d (basic diesel engine)
you can`t adjust the idle speed manualy,it has to be done through the ecu via a main dealer diagnostic computer.
If it has EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) there is no idle speed adjustment. The idle speed is adjusted electronically.
