come up with answer that turns a negative response into a positive outcome. What did you do to help improve the situation, task, goal. Did you offer any suggestions to your boss and if so, was it applied?

You could say the long hours or the intensity of the job. This is a tricky question and you need to be careful when answering it. You could say that it seemed challenging. The key is to be vague and not eliminate yourself from being considered.

If I were in an Interview and asked what I didn't like about my last job, I'd probably say that the money paid wasn't enough so I left the job. That may not be the real reason, but if you do tell the perspective employer that you didn't like someone in your previous job, they may not hire you because they may think that you aren't a team player. Don't forget they don't know the real you.

Only you can answer that. For example, some people like repetition and routine, and others hate it. Try not to sound like a whiner, though, and try not to mention something that describes the job you are applying for. For example, if you dislike contact with people, don't mention that when you apply for a job as a counter person. (Better yet, don't apply for a job as a counter person.)

This kind of question is an opportunity to shine. Employers are looking at every stage for reasons to reject applications (especially when economic times are hard and more people are applying than usual) but they are also looking for people who can turn negatives into positives.

Give an example of something the new job would offer that you don't get in your old job. This can be something concrete like dealing with the public or something more esoteric like having a greater level of challenge.

Such questions are fairly typical of those you will be presented with when applying for a job

As with most things, it is all about preparation. If you fail to prepare then be prepared to fail. There are many 'standard' questions. There are no standard answers as most are asking about you personally. Because of that no one but yourself can answer many of the questions you will be asked. Think about such questions in advance and have your answers ready. There are many sources of the type of questions you may be presented with. The internet and your local library being the main ones. Be positive; do not repeat what you have read in books or on the Internet. By all means read sample answers but do not repeat them verbatim. The person interviewing you will have read all those answers too.

There is more to having a successful job interview than just answering the questions asked. Many would say much more. First impressions count for far more than many realise.

Dress for the part. Be punctual and polite. Listen to what is being said. Answer only the question asked. (Don't ramble)

What about our position do you find the most and least attractive?

When you are asked this, it means what about the possible job do you like, and what do you think you might not like as much. This is actually a tricky question. You are being asked to evaluate the position (the job you are applying for), but you do not want to sound too negative. Be honest, but be tactful. Tell what you like about the job-- why you want to be hired, what interested you about this particular position. But as for what you find the least attractive, that would depend on how much you know about the job duties or the hours or the pay.

Why didn't you like about your last job?

Tell the truth. There is always something a person does not like about their job even though the rest of it is good. Think of the least appealing aspect of it. As an example, if you work in a fast food restaurant and you liked working with the patrons but did not like closing the store, say so. That is all there is to it. You don't have to give every thing you did not like but at least one thing needs to be put on an application or at a job interview that asks this question.
