If you are given the opportunity to explain the offense, do so in as simple and brief terms as possible and try to minimize the seriousness or the violence (if any was involved) of it, and convey to the interviewer that you have learned your lesson. In other words BE HUMBLE.

How should you state on a job application that you were convicted of a misdemeanor?

Not unless it specifically asks that. Most job applications that ask about criminal record usually only ask about felony convictions.

Can you get a CDl in wi with a drug felony?

You can get a CDL. But no company is going to hire you with that on your record. While it is possible for someone with a felony to get a CDL job (albeit difficult), drug convictions and violence convictions make you untouchable.

The company will take care of the bonding process, including paying the premium. That statement on the application is just a hint that if you have any felony convictions, or a long record of misdemeanors, you are wasting your time filling out the form.

Can you be terminated after a background check when the application asked if you were ever convicted of a felony and you answered no because you did not know it was a felony?

It doesn't matter whether you knew or not, if you committed a felony, then you would be terminated if you answered 'no' on the application. It is your job to know your own backround.
