This line stating if someone has a rap sheet should be abolish and look on the person who you are now.
If you are given the opportunity to explain the offense, do so in as simple and brief terms as possible and try to minimize the seriousness or the violence (if any was involved) of it, and convey to the interviewer that you have learned your lesson. In other words BE HUMBLE.
A person should answer truthfully when answers questions about misdemeanor convictions on a job application. It is important to list the details and the dates that the convictions occurred.

Not unless it specifically asks that. Most job applications that ask about criminal record usually only ask about felony convictions.
You can get a CDL. But no company is going to hire you with that on your record. While it is possible for someone with a felony to get a CDL job (albeit difficult), drug convictions and violence convictions make you untouchable.

Felony convictions don't "go away". You cannot be discriminated against for having a felony on your record for "most jobs".

The company will take care of the bonding process, including paying the premium. That statement on the application is just a hint that if you have any felony convictions, or a long record of misdemeanors, you are wasting your time filling out the form.

Did you get it straightened out? You still have to put the felony down on the application in order to have any possibility of being hired and keeping the job.
It doesn't matter whether you knew or not, if you committed a felony, then you would be terminated if you answered 'no' on the application. It is your job to know your own backround.
