It is on the pipe behind the engine that goes to cabin radiator
When filling a radiator from empty or if you suspect an air lock, you need to bleed the coolant system. On the passenger side of the radiator you will find a bleed point. There is another one on the heater pipes where they enter the bulkhead (firewall) Release both bleed points and fit a length of tube and a small funnel to the filler cap overflow point. Get a small plastic bag and a cable tie and seal the filler aperture. Start to fill the system via the funnel and when coolant flows from the bleed points close them. (The radiator will fill first) When the coolant flowing from heater pipe bleed point is free from air bubbles the system is full. Remove the fill tube and plastic bag and run the engine until the thermostat opens. Check levels and replace the filler cap.
should be tyre valve cap on heater pipes coming out bulk head on drives side
start the engine . on the heater /open the radiator cap until see the anti freeze coolant flowing circle
Rarely do you find a bleeder valve on the heater. If there is one, it will be located on the highest point of the heater core connections from the engine. You can bleed the heater by turning it to hot and starting the engine. Use the bleeder valves on the engine or remove the radiator cap and run the engine until no more air bubbles are escaping. This should bleed all air from the heater core.
Replace the radiator cap and be sure the coolant reservoir is kept full to the line, it will bleed itself.
Be sure the coolant reservoir is full. Be sure the hose and hose connections between the reservoir and radiator are good and tight and the radiator cap is good. Be sure that the rest of the coolant system is in good shape (no radiator leaks, no leaks anywhere) and the system will bleed itself in time.
More than likely the cooling system has an air bubble in the heater core. check to see if the radiator is topped off with anti freeze, and look in your owners manual for cooling system bleed procedure. sometimes, even if the radiator is full, there will be an area that will not bleed the air, so the engineers designed in a bleed port which is sometimes located on the thermostat housing or in a heater hose. hope this helps
How do you bleed air from radiator of a 2000 range rover?
intake gasket, leaking radiator and radiator cap, leaking heater core,, air in the sytem that needs to be bleed by the bleed screws,,,but most of all on all these cars with the 3.8 or 3.4 are bad about intake gaskets,,hope this helps
remove thermostat housing two bolts and replace with new and seal...replace fluid with 50/50 antifreeze and bleed system including heater. bleed screws pretty obvious on water hoses ie heater in and out of bulkhead, blow in header tank with bleeds open, reseal and should be ok
If there are no schrader valves to bleed the system, remove the radiator cap, make sure the radiator is full of coolant, turn the heater controls to HOT, start the engine, watch for air bubbles escaping, keep the radiator full, and when you see no more air bubbles escaping, replace the cap. The system is now bled.
