Long Answer:
1. Plan to check the level after a short drive, to ensure that the steering liquid works through the reservoir.
2. Stop, park, and turn off the car.
3. Find the Power Steering reservoir (it is near the front right of the engine block, looking at the car with the hood open).
4. Check the fluid level in the reservoir. It should be between the MIN and MAX lines (marked on the side). Do not add fluid if the level is in this range.
5. If the fluid is low, add fluid in small amounts, continuously checking
the level until it reaches the range between the MIN and MAX lines. Be
sure to put the cap back on the reservoir.
Note. The owner's manual requires MERCON ATF which is no longer made.
And there is an explanation by Castrol, the makers of MERCON on how you can put MERCON in your power steering, (as long as you don't put generic power steering in your transmission!)
