I just replaced the blower motor on my 96 EB explorer. You must remove some of the air intake, the windshield and coolant resevoirs, and the speed control. If you disconnect 3 or 4 of the connectors in the area you will make life easier. The motor is held by four screws. There is a rubber boot that must be removed also. I tried to short cut it and wound up busting the blower wheel while removing it. Make sure you reuse/replace the felt gasket. hope this helps ed st. john

The blower motor resistor on a Ford Explorer is positioned behind the glove compartment on the vehicle. The glove compartment can be removed easily by gently squeezing both sides at the same time.
