There is no fan belt; the fan is electric. See the question/answer about changing a serpentine (alternator) belt. You may need to remove the passenger side engine splash shield before you can reach the alternator bolts from below. I just work from above to avoid crap falling down into my eyes as I'm looking up, but I also don't have an A/C compressor in my way.
For a VIN "6" engine (the 1.6L SOHC) loosen the alternator hold-down bolt (nearer the firewall, above the alternator), loosen the alternator pivot bolt, move the alternator towards the engine, take off the old belt and put on a new one. Set a reasonable tension on the belt and re-tighten the bolts.
