they are typically located on the valve body, just inside of the transmission oil pan. once you have dropped the pan, just disconnest the wire and they should pop right out.
aode
yes they are the same transmission, just change the mount
the AODE is an electronically controlled transmission that is controlled by a separate computer this may not be a good idea for a novice.
I'm pretty sure the 95 gt came with an aode transmission which means automatic overdrive. they had the aode in the earlier years but it was a completely different tranny.

Get 6 that should be plenty
Only the AODE that came with the Taurus.
find a service manual or look it up in the car manual located in the dash!
no, i believe the 1992 crown vic uses a AODE transmission, while the Lincoln mark viii uses a 4r70w.
Motorcraft . com shows 1 listing for an AOD - E transmission in a 1992 full size Mercury
up to build date 02/16/92 was AOD. from 02/17/92 on was AODE (AOD-"Electronic") until switch to beefed up AODE-W {for wide-ratio}"4R70W" in 1995 model year. Gear ratios for AODE were same as AOD, just changover to electronic control from throttle-valve cable control.IMPORTANT NOTE: SHIFT QUADRANT FOR 1992 AODE WAS SAME AS AOD DUE TO NO "OverDrive Cancel Switch" BEING INTRODUCED UNTIL 1993 MODEL YEAR PRODUCTION!
No, the 1983 - 1992 Crown Victorias used the AOD transmission and the 1993-1994 Crown Victorias used the AODE transmission, so they would be different. Sorry!
