push the wiper lever away from you. this washes the rear windscreen and starts the wiper. push the lever away from you again to stop the wiper.
get the axe and chop 'em off
Hatchbacks and estate/station wagons have a lip of metal between the top of the rear windscreen and the roofline, leaving room to install a windscreen wiper. The wiper mechanism can also be mounted below the windscreen reaching upwards, saloon/sedan cars have no room in either of those places. The boot of a saloon also helps stop spray from the rear of the car reaching the windscreen.

not sure if a partner is the same but I asked the same question to a dealer regarding the 407 SW rear wiper arm as mine was not positioned correctly and was told they could only be removed by breaking off and replaced with a new arm!
They should be with the others under the dashboard right hand side by the drivers door.

On a Peugeot 306, the fuse for the rear wiper motor is on the right hand side of the fuse box just under the steering wheel. It should be orange in color.
