How do you change a slave cylinder for a 1993 Chevy s10 manual trans and where it is?
First of all it is located on the left hand side of the transmission (driver's side.) There is 2 bolts that hold it on 13mm. You also have to take the line loose from the top of the slave cylinder and it's just a matter of putting the rod back into the transmission and sliding the slave cylinder back on and hooking the line back up with the 2 13mm. bolts and then bleading the system...the bleeder valve is located on the slave cylinder and is blead like brakes.

To CHANGE the slave cylinder the transmission has to be removed , but the lines to the slave cylinder CAN BE BLEAD from a fitting that extends outside of the transmission bellhousing

slave cylinder location in the Mercury mystique the slave cylinder is located in the transmission. it is connected to the release bearing. the onbly way to change the slave cylinder in this perticular car is to pull the transmission. stupid desing but its a ford so this kind of briliant thinking is expected..lol

The slave cylinder is INSIDE the transmission bellhousing , it slides over the transmission input shaft , and then is bolted to the transmission. To change the slave cylinder the transmission has to be removed , but the slave cylinder line can be blead from the bleeder outside of the transmission bellhousing

If I am understanding the part you are talking about the. It is the metal line that goes into the slave cylinder that attaches to the rubber hose from the slave cylinder... Depending on your slave cylinder it is/was held in by a plastic horseshoe style clip that could have broke from a stress fracture manufacturer defect or overheating
