Air conditioner drive belt needs to be removed to access the alternator belt. Loosen the alternator pivot bolt and the alternator adjustment bolt-the one which rides in a slot. There is a third bolt, like an eyebolt, which points to the rear and has a nut which can be tightened to pull the eyebolt and adjustment bolt. The eyebolt will likely have rusted threads and should be lubricated before starting the job. With the alternator belt off, run the nut over the full length of the eyebolt, then apply grease to the threads. Adjust eyebolt to swing alternator to front of car; the drivebelt can be then easily installed. Tighten nut on eyebolt for correct belt tension, then tighten other two bolts. There is almost no room available to do any of this; sometimes you can't even get one click of a ratchet; that is why it is important to have free-turning hardware.
