a generator is the same diameter all the way to the fan shroud and usually has a voltage regulator fastened to the fan shroud where a alternator is bigger where the pulley goes than where it goes into the fan shroud
Yes
follow the instructions on the fan shroud
How do you remove the fan shroud on a 2004 get envoy
Remove the shroud, un-bolt the fan&clutch. It comes off as 1 unit.
Disconnect the fan motor electrical connector. Unbolt the fan bracket and shroud assembly. Take the harness connector from the shroud. Lift the shroud out of the engine compartment. To separate the fan from the motor take loose the motor shaft clip. Remove the bracket from the fan motor by detatching the harness from the retainers then remove the mounting screws.
Whether you have a generator or an alternator isn't critical here, although you probably have a generator. Anyway, how I get 'em out is to remove the hood, the carburetor and intake manifold, then remove the screws that hold the fan shroud in place. Remove the fan belt, generator strap and generator wiring. Finally, grasp the fan shroud and lift it completely out of the car. After that there are four bolts holding it to the fan shroud, and one holding the fan on. Finally, there are four bolts holding the backing plate to the generator.
Hi their should be a diagrahm on or around the fan shroud
Take off fan shroud and fan. Loosen belt tensioner. When you take of belt remember how it went on and just replace.
At least half.
The 2000 Chevy Cavalier cooling fan shroud is held in place with 10 retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts and the cooling fan shroud will come off.
