Take it to a mechanic. If you are asking that question on this forum then it is too complicated for you and you could mess up a lot of stuff if you do it wrong.
The only seals on the driveshaft itself would be on the slip yoke. You're probably thinking of the pinion seal, which is at the front of the differential, behind the input yoke to the differential.
Rear you have to change the entire hub assembly Front you have to remove the axle shaft
There is either a problem with the actuator in the front differential--BAD ACTUATOR. Are there is a problem with the differential ---RING and PINION asembley.
Perhaps something in your front differential is not right and it is spinning your front drive shaft, instead of vice versa.
I believe it's called a trans-axle output shaft seal. Could also be the front differential pinion seal.
The Prop shaft (front drive shaft) has a ball type cv joint that sits in bearings that connects to the transfer case. This is most likely shot and you need a front prop shaft (front drive shaft) complete with rubber boot and differential cv universal joint.
it would be cheaper to buy a 4x4 vehicle u need to change out the front end suspension , such as springs steering, axle.then u need to change transmission to one that accomadates a transfer case.then u need to change rear drive shaft to match, u also need to buy front drive shaft. after getting all this you then need to make sure rear differential and front differential both have same gear ratios
Yes, the shaft is still connected to the front tires through the front differential, so it will turn while driving.
More than likely you will need a new transmission, a new front axel with differential and a half shaft.
a jack shaft is the small drive shaft from transfer case to front differential, brakes have nuthing to do with removal of a jack shaft maybe you mean removal of front axle
Posibilites: Blown rear differential, when the front wheels go around does the rear drive shaft? Blown transfer case: Same test as above but the rear drive shaft does not spin. Is there a rear drive shaft? ( I have seen this ) Customer damaged the Rear "U" joint off road and rear drive shaft fell out with out driver knowing.
if 4x2 only 1 differential which is the pumpkin between your rear axle, if 4x4, there will be a transfer case at the front of the vehicle coming off of the transmission going to front drive shaft and front differential.
