How do you change headlight bulbs in a 2002 Honda 1800 goldwing?

This applies to 2001 through 2007 model GL1800 and GL1800A Goldwings
Above the forks there is a plastic plate about 7 inches wide. The brake cables/lines run through the plate. The plate is held on by two black Phillips head screws on the front and two silver colored screws in the back.
Remove the two black screws. This allows the plastic plate to flex down towards the wheel without damage. You'll need a very short screw driver or an angle driver for best access to these screws. Turn the wheel to the side you are working on because it allows better access to the screw and to the light you are going to change.
After flexing the plate out of the way, pull the plug from the back of the bulb you are going to change. The plug just slides off. There is no retaining clip on the plug.
Now removed the rubber dust cover from the back of the bulb housing. It just pulls off.
You now have access to the bulb itself. They are standard automotive type H7.
The bulb is held in the socket by a single spring loaded retaining clip. I used an small mirror to look into the socket to see what I was working on. The side of the spring you push on is the clutch side for both low beam bulbs. You push on the spring and pull down. This allows the retaining clip to come loose and release the bulb.
Now that the bulb is free, just pull it straight back.
Once the bulb is out of the bike, TAKE THE BLACK PIECE OFF THE BULB! You must put this on the new bulb before re-installing.
Put the new bulb back in the bike. The notch faces up.
Reverse all the steps. Be careful with the rubber dust boot so that you don't cover one of the prongs of the bulb. It makes it hard to plug back in and you can't see it.
I did both bulbs in about 45 mins and could do it in about 15 mins now that I've done it once.

Actually, if you look through the hole where the handlebars are and your hands are not too large, you can reach through to the back of the headlight and pull the plug off of the bulb. Then follow the rest of the instructions above. No need to remove anything from the bike but the bulb and the rubber boot. Thanks
