These ignition switches have a spring retainer It is approximately 1 inch back from the face of the lock. It should be in align with either the top of the key slot or the bottom of the key slot. You will have to drill a small hole through the aluminum casting around the lock cylinder I recommend about 1/8th inch. Once you have located the spring it will be black, push it down the key switch will pull straight out. If you have a new switch you can compare for distance, and location. Hope this helps.

The brake light switch is found behind the 1998 VW Beetles brake pedal. Reach it by removing the lower dash console to gain access to the nut holding the switch in place. Remove the nut then then the switch.

Pull the turn signal switch toward you. First pull switches from low to high, second switches back to low.
It is threaded into the master cylinder. If you can't reach from under, remove the fuel tank to expose the master cylinder and brake light switch.

The parking lights are turned on when the headlights are on and you pull out on the light switch. The parking lights cannot be turned on by themselves.
If it is a turbo model, It might be a switch for the motorized spoiler on the roof. It's at the top of the rear window. Push it and listen. You should hear the spoiler flip up.
At the end of the master cylinder. Probably the easiest way to gain accesss would be to remove the gas tank.
