This shouldn't actually be necessary, but here goes. Remove the vehicle speed sensor and the transaxle drain plug. Drain the fluid (dispose of properly). Replace the drain plug and tighten it to 29to 39 ft-lbs. Fill the transaxle to a correct level withmercron tranny fluid. Please do not overfill or you can damage your tranny and end up replacing it.
is it an automatic, or manual shift?
The battery, cables and starter may be bad.

Manual transmission is a stick shift. You have to manually change the gears using the shifter and the clutch.
It is on top of the transmission under the intake housing. Take the housing off to get to it. It is held into the transmission by a clamp bolt. Not hard to get off.
You can remove the transmission pan or pump it out. If you want to also change the filter, which you should, then remove the pan.
