The water pump should only be replaced when you hear signs of the pump failing, i.e: bearings on the pulley are squeaking.
From the 2006 Odyssey Manual: A is an oil change, 1 is rotate tires and 4 is replace spark plugs, and timing belt. Inspect water pump and valve clearance.

To change the fuel pump on a 1997 Honda Odyssey, first you will need to disconnect the battery. Then you will need to lift the van high enough to ensure sufficient access to the gas tank. If there is interference between the suspension and the gas tank there should be an access hole to access the fuel pump assembly. Once this area is located, you can safely change the fuel pump.
