Use an extention(or 2)with a swivel at the end attached 2 your spark plug socket. R.W.: You may have to go in from the bottom. I have seen this before. Kind of a pain in the a$$ I do not know about the 3.0l but the 3.3l is greatly eased by removing the upper intake manifold. Disconnect the throttle body and rear alternator mount bolt then remove the bolts holding the upper intake to the lower intake. Now all 3 rear plugs are in easy reach. Reassemble in reverse remembering to torque appropriately.
Follow the plug wires from the distributor.
Lift the hood, disconnect the battery, remove the spark plug cables and covers, and remove the old spark plugs. Next put in the new spark plugs, replace the cables and covers, reconnect the battery and close the hood.
Unfortunately, this is not easy. You have to basically take everything off of the top of the engine, all the way down to the fuel rail, to be able to access the rear spark plugs.
There are seals under the valve cover that need replaced to repair oil on the spark plugs.
The distributor cap is located where the spark plugs cables are connected .They go from the motor to the distributor cap.
You reach over the top, or Jack the van up and reach them from underneath.
when do you change spark plugs
Check to make sure the wires are all tight and you have them in the correct firing sequence. Also make sure you put the correct plugs in.
Hi You'll have to go trough a hell of an operation. To begin with: remove wiper arm and wipermotor, then loosen and rotate alternatorbracket. remove inlet manifold. do remember to have a new gasket for the manifold.
Does it have fuel/spark/compression?
to change the plugs, remove the air filter element - lean over engine to back and unscrew plugs and replace same with new ones
Screwed in the head.
