A second black plastic cover around the shift lever containing the letters must be released very carefuly by using the flat tip screw driver to separate the 4 plastic catches one at a time. Once released, pull the cover up and turn it 90 degrees counter clockwise, this will expose a thin film strip covering the light socket. Lay the black cover on the base of the shift lever.
Remember how the thin plastic strip is attached to the white frame and lift it to expose the light bulb socket. The light bulb looks similar to Christmas decorating light bulbs. Place a drop of super glue on the "Q" tip, and place it on top of the bulb to be pulled and hold it against it until the glue is dry and pull the bulb out of its socket. (If you use a set of thin pliers, it may brake the bulb inside the socket.
Ensure that the light switch is turned off and also make sure that both wire filaments on the base of the replacement bulb will line up with the socket contacts. Place it so it slides into the socket and with the pencil eraser, push the light bulb firmly into the socket. Test it by turning the light switch on and then reverse the process to re-assemble your shift lever assembly.
