Remove the skid plate on the bottom of the vehicle.( not necessary but makes things a lot less messy.) Remove the oil plug. It's the 17mm bolt on the lowest point of the crankcase. Let the oil drain into a sutable pan. Replace the Plug and skid plate. Replace the oil filter located on the front of the engine. Refill the oil thru the fill plug located on the right side of the motor. Oil amounts vary, it is written on the case just above the fill cap. It is usually about 3.5 Quarts. It is written in liters.

Find the drain plug and unscrew it. Empty the oil from the filter. Replace the oil and screw the filter into the engine.

The oil is changed on a Kawasaki Mule 550 by driving the vehicle onto ramps and placing a drain pan under the engine. The drain plug can then be removed and the old oil allowed to collect.
