If you have to ask, you should take it to the shop. Done wrong, timing belts can cause a lot of trouble. I would recomend you get a Chilton's manual from the Library. However, it can be explained simply. The belt is one the side of the engine under a plastic cover. "Simply" remove the cover, release the tensioner and pull of the belt (or what ever is left of it). Install a new belt and retension. !!!WARNING!!! Engine timing must be exact. The Chilton Manual will explain the timing marks found on the sprockets. REMEMBER ON THE 1990 THEIR ARE THE TWO BALANCE SHAFTS WITH ANOTHER BELT BEFORE YOU EVEN GET TO THE TIMING BELT, AFTER THAT THE PROCEDURE IS BASICALLY THE SAME AS FOR A LATER 4 -BANGER Honda(96-2000)
Can you change a automatic to a 5 speed Honda Accord 1990
there are two kinds of timing marks. one is for ignition timing and one for valve timing.
16 degrees before top dead center
Yes it does also once Ur working there might as well change timing belt
IT IS AT THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE BEHIND THE TIMMING COVER
Every 60000 miles is factory recommened. On the 1990 thru 1992 Honda Accord, the timing belt should be changed about every 150,000 miles. My 92" Accord has 154,000 miles on it and I havent changed yet, because all the shops around town have told me it cost about $600-$800 dollars.

The 1990 Honda Accord does not have a cabin filter.
The timing belt must be replaced every 90,000 miles or every 10 years whichever comes first. Warning: This is an interference engine.
I just changed a timing belt in a buddys 1990 accord and you need to set the marks on the pulleys to same direction as your crank pulley mark is.
