First find the filter... Honda has it for $50 but their general practice it not to change it. NAPA has it for $25. After you have the filter, you want to remove the battery and plastic tray. Then remove the air intake hose coming from the air filter box to the intake. At this point you can see the spin on Trans filter on top of the transmission. (Cylindrical, about the size of your fist.) It is threaded on one end and has a line connection on the other in. The line connection uses and "O ring" to seal it up and there are two screws that hold the line in place. You may have to loosen the brake module to have better access. Next remove the screws and then gently pry out the line. Doesn't take much force. After you have the line out of the way, you will have to unscrew the filter. You can do this with a 1" wrench. Limited access so, needs to be a wrench. After you break it loose, it should unscrew pretty easily. Now just reverse the order to put everything back.
When i did mine, i pulled the plastic engine cover too... makes it easier to get hose off. 10mm screws on engine cover, 12mm screws on break module and 10mm screws on transmission line connection. Total took about 45mins. Hope this helps.

4.5 qts. with filter change, 4.2 qts. without filter change.
The typical change interval is every 12000 miles. I change the air filter and cabin filter at the same time.
