Assuming that this is an automatic trans... Remove the trans pan. It's messy, but that's the way it's done. Be advised that there is no way to change the other half of the trans oil that is still residing inside the passages & torque converter, without having a Transmission Fluid change pump system.

If this question is for a 1997 PONTIAC Sunfire, the trans. fluid plug (filler) is located on the drivers side of the engine. This red cap is under the water hose and brake fluid reservoir on the drivers side. It takes a little hunting. There is no plug, it's a "Sealed Transmission." You have to take the pan off to get the fluid out. It's a very messy job, but its the only way.
