Jack the car up or put on ramps ,place a large drain pan under tranmission ,remove bolts to tranmission pan ,pan will comes loose and oil will spill out .replace filter with new one ,and make sure pan gasket is good .put gasket and pan cover back on and tighten.fill transmission with recommended trans oil,run car til warm and check trans oil level . I must add that on the 2000 Toyota Corolla 4 speed automatic transmission there is a drain plug you can remove to drain thefluid first. After you drain it then you can remove the pan to change the filter.
