I think 2000-2002 are welded in.
You can replace just the ball joints on the lower control arms , but the upper ball joints come with a new control arm
Two. One on each side in the front. There are only lower ball joints on this vehicle. There are no upper ball joints - there are struts instead.
On a 2000 Lincoln LS : The FRONT suspension is a strut type suspension , so there are ( NO ) upper ball joints
Replace upper and lower ball joints. Not hard, but time consuming.
I believe on the 4 x 4 , with the torsion bar suspension , the upper ball joints are part of the control arm and the lower ball joints can be replaced separately or with a new control arm The 2 wheel drive , with the coil spring front suspension , the upper and lower ball joints can be replaced separately
first you take it in then pay them to do them for you!!!!!!!!!!
1950 to 2049
upper or lower?
tires need to be rebalanced
I had this problem on my 2000. I lubed all the fittings, especially upper and lower ball joints and the noise went away. Chevy wants you to lube every oil change. If you still hear the noise you'll have to replace. Check the Anti-Sway Bar bushings and where they attach to the A-Arm.
If it's the front upper u can bolt it off if but the back 1 won't come out u have 2 remove the complete shock 3 13mm bolts on top and 1 18nut and bolt at the bottom the spring
