Below is what Nissan would like you to think. If your Frontier is 2005+ 2nd gen, then there is a dip stick. it's located down on the passenger side of the engine near the exhaust manifold. It's small, and it's bolted down with a 10mm bolt. You'll need to remove that to pull the dipstick. Also, there is an actual drain plug in the corner of the transmission pan. You can do a partial drain/fill yourself in your garage with minimal effort.
You cant check the Transmission Fluid because there isn't a dip stick or plug.
The transmission oil is change using a pressure pump system at the dealer while the transmission is running via the transmission cooling lines. This system bleeds all the fluid out and flushes the entire system, replacing all the fluid. The only draw back is that it uses really expensive fluid and it costs about $350 in Canada to have it done. Now that's an expensive oil change.

how do you check your transmission fluid in the nissan murano

Remove the transmission plug on the bottom of the transmission. The transmission fluid will drain out of the unplugged whole.
Use the transmission dipstick.
A bad transmission gear can cause your 1999 Nissan frontier to shift hard. Low transmission fluid can also cause the transmission to shift hard.
There is no external transmission reservoir. Transmission fluid is stored in the transmission. Fluid is added at the same point at which you check the fluid level.
You can use any kind of SAE certified automatic transmission fluid in your 1993 Nissan Pathfinder. You can check the automatic transmission fluid level with the transmission dipstick.
If it's automatic, facing the engine, it is a gray pull stick on the left side of the engine close to the firewall and valve cover.
If your 93 Nissan Pathfinder transmission won't shift into overdrive, check the transmission fluid levels. Ensure the fluid is at the proper level.
