you would take out the spark plugs still attached to the spark wires. place the metal of the plugs onto a grounded metal spot. make sure they are not touching in order to prevent damaging them or blowing fuses.

perhaps you connected your spark plug wires incorrectly check your firing order if you crossed a couple of spark wires the engine may still run but very roughly also you may have spark plug wires that are not fully connected to the plug are you reusing the old plug wires may be time for a new set check connectors for corrosion recomend using high quality spark plug wires

PROBABLY SHORTING OUT THE SPARK PLUGS AND/OR SPARK PLUG WIRES. HAPPENED TOO ME SEVERAL TIMES. DRY THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP, SPARK PLUG WIRES AND CHECK IF THERE IS WATER IN THE SPARK PLUG CAVITIES.

Plug wires should never come loose while driving. Replace the plug wires; make sure they snap onto the spark plug ends correctly. Check your motor mounts, check to ensure no linkage is interfering with the wires too. A bad motor mount can cause the entire engine to rock around while driving.
