It doesn't have one. VW says the transmission fluid is for the "life of the transmission." Scary.
VW from 1995 and on (automatic transmission) HAVE NO OIL DIPSTICK. You have to take it to your VW dealer for a check every 100 K miles. I hope this help. Good luck and GOD Bless.
how do you check the transmission fluid in a jetta 2003
The 98 Cabrio has a sealed transmission, it does not have a dipstick.
The VW Beetle does not have clutch fluid. There is not any fluid associated with the clutch. The transmission has transmission fluid.
I need to know how th check transmission fluid level on my granddaughter's '69 VW Jetta.
Check transmission fluid level Perhaps change transmission fluid and filter
A 1998 VW Beetle does not have a dipstick that you can check the transmission fluid with. Instead, there is a fill tube with a red cap on the side of the transmission. Take the red cap off and that is how you check the levels on this type of vehicle.
There isn't any way to add or check transmission fluid. The transmission is sealed. Look in your owners book to locate transmission, if there is no leaking then it is fine. You can always call a VW dealership if you are not satisfied with this answer.

The 1999 VW Jetta comes with a sealed transmission making it inmpossible to check the fluid. The dealership charges a ridiculous $400 just for transmission fluid change... There are a few sources that say how to check the fluid by removing the drain plug, but it`s a little intimidating(for me at least). By the way, VW strongly advises to use only their trans fluid which costs about $26 bucks a quart, abouts. Yeah, a big scam on VW`s part. Good luck! olinoo@msn.com
On the VW automatic transmission of this generation vehicle, the transmission is supposed to be serviced only by VW, so there is not the typical dip stick tube that comes up into the engine compartment. You can check the fluid and add if needed through the fill spout, under the car, located directly on the transmission pan. There is a short 2" tube with a red cap, unscrew the cap which also has a fluid level indicator attached, similar to a power steering dipstick. To add fluid you will need to pump it in with a hose attached to your container. Regards. BDBENZ
