You should probably change a Chevy Impala transmission fluid every 3000 miles. This also applies to most vehicles on the road today. It is also important to check your transmission fluid at least twice a month.
remove Allen head /dip stick in top of trans, just below oil tank.the dip stick looks like a large Allen head bolt.
There's a filler plug with an Allen hole in it on the forward side of the transmission end cover on the right side of the bike. That filler plug has its own dipstick, which should be read with the bike upright (not leaning on the jiffy stand).
Yes it does. You can check by looking at the brake fluid resevoir, it will say what type of brake fluid to use.
we use the same as the engine. 20/50. works jsut fine for us.
i would say either a leak would cause a puddle underneath, or if you parked ontop of a spot of fluid that was already there before you arrived.
You didn't specify a year. You should be able to find a chrome fill plug with a large internal hex, located on or near your trans side cover on the right side of the bike, this is the fluid level check location as well as the fill location.
You could use a dip-stick or check the gages, there are gages for everything on those modern bikes.
