Hi, I am inviting Mr. G G. Weston to view Grocery store toxicity Face book group. Most informative would be a contribution regarding efforts made towards recognition and efforts being made to addressing this important ongoing assault on our world.
Thanks in anticipation, Heidi St.Pierre

Dear Mr. Weston, Today I was at a Loblaws store in Etobicoke near my home. I was looking for some tomatoes. A sign for the tomatoes said 'product of Canada'. When I looked closer at the package, I saw instead that the tomatoes were not from Canada but from Mexico instead. I mentined this to the produce people and they admitted that the sign was misleading and the tomatoes were in fact from Mexico. There are two things that bother me about this incident. First the misleading advertising. There is no excuse for this in a store such as Loblaws. Secondly, I was not able to find any tomatoes from Canada anywhere in the store. Surely there must be greenhouse tomatoes available. I try to buy local produce as much as possible. Your TV commercials boast the fact that Loblaws sells local produce. I am very wary of buying produce from Mexico for a number of reasons. I hope that there will be an improvement in these practices. Sincerely, Luci Liotta

In the Cundles East store in Barrie, there is an employee who, for medical reasons, does not wear a mask. Public health says she must be accommodated, even though she works in the food sector. I only enter the store to speak with my pharmacist, and there beside me, was the unmasked staff member. I am elderly and immunosuppressed. I am sure that I am not the only one. I spoke with the store manager who has been in touch with public health. They say he must accommodate her AND that he cannot refuse entry to the grocery store to anyone who refuses to mask. That is your policy, I am guessing? Or the region's policy?? ? No mask, no service is the standard during the pandemic.,and during a pandemic is crucial.
There is no office or backroom work they can offer her. She is unionized so can't be forced to work nights. They try to keep her in the lowest use aisles, but she is within 6 feet or less - less with me - and handles dry goods which may still contain the virus. There must be a way for Zehrs to deny access to the public. No mask, no entry. If that is not the case, please provide me with the legislation that provides the loophole. We kniw your kegal department has it. Also, during covid, there must be some dispensation which allows you to lay the person off, as was done with someone else in the airline industry.
Please reinstate hazard pay for staff. This outbreak is far more dangerous than the initial outbreak. Please reinstate dates and times when grocery pickup is free, for the same health reasins. The fee hurts the most vulnerable. Your new $119./month plan is just another money grab. You can well afford it, given the increased corporate earnings since covid began and the increased charges for food.
Please answer me in this forum.
Thank you
How do I contact you?
Dear sir.... my concern is best before CODE DATES ! Could you look into this . On some of your products they are non existment.... plus other products in your stores !! Please make these code dates large and readable . THIS IS A HEALTH ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN YOU CAN'NT READ OR SEE OR THERE NOT AT ALL !!!! People can get sick or die ..... please get this taken care of ASAP ? THANKS RON
Gooday Mr. G. Weston,
My Mother and I have read all your updates and are impressed with the content and measures taken to protect your staff and customers.
Yesterday, May23 2020, my Mother and I were in Shoppers on Manning Rd. in Tecumseh, Ontario. We were quite surprized to see 4 people working in the pharmacy who were preparing prescriptions but not 1 of them was wearing a facemask. We will not be taking our prescriptions there because of the risk of transmission of the virus from a cough or sneeze from the pharmacist directly onto the pills then right into our mouths. We think these medical professionals should set an example and wear facemasks while working.
Kindest regards,
Elizabeth Parent.
Mr. Weston as I read you messages I think of my Aunt Tyyne Hyytiainen. She was the cook who went with the Westons to England in 1934. When Aunt Tyyne came back to Canada in 1949 she would often mention the Weston family. I recall her visiting with some of the Weston family in The Colonaide on Bloor Street in Toronto. I think that the girls had a store there. Mr. Weston also asked Mother to go with them at the time but she didn't go. Aunt Tyyne liked to make baked custard for Mr. Weston. He liked it --one egg to a cup of milk.
