Courtesy Lamp Disable (Dark Mode) This option offers deletion of the illuminated entry function. Upon vehicle power-up, the lighting control module (LCM) will not provide interior lighting during entry or exit of the vehicle. The interior lighting will, however, still operate on demand whenever the dome lamp switch is active. If the dark car feature is necessary, the assembly plant enables this feature through the LCM. The vehicle can be reconfigured by entering diagnostics, enabling/disabling the courtesy lamps and then exiting diagnostics. Use the following steps to enable or disable the courtesy lamps: 1. Connect the vehicle communication module (VCM) and integrated diagnostic system (IDS) software with appropriate hardware, or equivalent scan tool to the data link connector (DLC). 2. Select the LCM PID ''COURTESY LAMPS''. 3. Select ENABLE or DISABLE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery lead from the vehicle starting battery under the hood.
2. Look under the glove box and find two sides of a blue connector with 1 wire going into each piece.
3. Connect both sides of the blue connector together and tape it up behind the dash.
4. Wait a few minutes (at least 5 minutes, 10 minutes is preferable).
5. Reconnect the negative lead to the vehicle starting battery.
6. Open and close a door several times.
The dome light should not come on with the door but still work manually using the dash mounted switch.
