IF it is going off when you are in park, then you have a problem that needs to be fixed. Usually all you have to do is open the door and close it.
=============
The 'beltminder' is the most frustrating safety feature ever. It goes off in park with the car running. Don't tell me it isn't supposed to. It does. I'm tired of snyde people like the guy who previously answered, "I know, but I'm not going to tell you because I'm going to save your life blah blah blah." I was able to put a seatbelt on before the Beltminder, and I can continue to today. I am actually LESS likely to wear my seatbelt when I hear that god-forsaken beeping. I do not want How_do_you_disable_the_seat_belt_warning_alarm_in_a_2007_mercury_grand_marquisto tell me what to do, and I don't need the seatbelt on when I'm eating Burger King and listening to the radio IN PARK. So, to all of you, "Just wear the seatbelt" people, please shut up, k? You suck. Thanks!
I have successfully disabled the "Beltminder" system on my Mercury Grand Marquis as it is very annoying to have it ringing a bell every 10 seconds (see below).
